Conquer the Island: Getting Ready for Mallorca 312 in 2026
The air is crisp, the sun is rising over the Mediterranean, and the hum of thousands of freehubs fills the morning air. If you are a cycling enthusiast, there is only one place to be on April 25, 2026: the start line of the XVI Mallorca 312 OK Mobility.
As one of the most prestigious closed-road gran fondos in the world, the Mallorca 312 isn’t just a race; it’s a rite of passage. Whether you are aiming for the full epic loop or a shorter challenge, here is what you need to know for the upcoming edition.
The Routes: Choose Your Challenge
The beauty of this event lies in its flexibility. While you register for the event as a whole, you can decide on the day which of the three iconic routes suits your legs:
- The 312 km: The ultimate test. With over 5,050m of climbing, it takes you through the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains.
- The 225 km: A formidable mid-distance with roughly 3,973m of elevation, offering the best of the coastal views without the final 90km sting.
- The 167 km: Don’t let “short” fool you. With 2,475m of climbing, it covers the most famous peaks, including the Coll de Femenia and Puig Major.
Why 2026 Will Be Special
Expect a vibrant “Cycling Festival” atmosphere in Playa de Muro. With 8,000 riders from across the globe, the energy is infectious. The 2026 edition continues the tradition of totally closed roads, meaning you can descend like a pro (safely!) without worrying about local traffic.
Quick Tips for Success
- Book Early: Entries typically sell out in minutes when they open in October. If you missed the window, official tour operators often have guaranteed bibs.
- The Front Loading: Most of the climbing happens in the first 150km. Pace yourself through the mountains so you have fuel left for the rolling plains of the second half.
- The Jersey: Wearing the official event jersey is mandatory—it’s your “ticket” on the road and a badge of honour once you cross the finish line.
