Over the years, here at Bike Box Alan, we’ve got used to constantly developing our products. From the early days and our very first bike boxes, to the para-cycle box, we’re always looking to innovate and to take the lead in the design of bike boxes that meet the needs of all cyclists.

The Popularity of Larger Wheeled Bikes

Recent developments within cycling have been dramatic, with the advent of the gravel bike and its chunkier tyre and wheel set-up, and the popularity of the 29” mountain bike wheel. And, whilst our Bike Box Alan’ Easy Fit’ box caters for just about every bike on the market, we wanted to give our customers a lighter alternative, whilst increasing the volume and wheelset storage from our classic ‘Premium’ bike box. Say ’hello’ then to our new ‘Premium Plus’ bike box, which we’ve just launched at the 2023 Cape Town Cycle Tour event in South Africa. Yes, the best way to show the world our new bike box, was to travel to a world class event with a few of them!

The new Bike Box Alan ‘Premium Plus’, sits neatly between our classic ‘Premium’ and the superb ‘Easy Fit’, ensuring that whatever your own travelling needs, we’ve got you covered – literally. It has a larger wheelset moulding within the box lid, our familiar, industry leading wealth of strapping for your bike, an anti-crush bar and soft padding to cover the whole bike once fitted.

Fitting Your Bike into the Premium Plus

In terms of fitting your bike into the Premium Plus, it’s simply a case of removing the wheels and pedals, removing the handlebar stem and fastening the bars to the side of the bike frame, and you’re ready to roll. There’s also ample space for you to store cycling shoes, your helmet and kit, and your other travel items. The new Bike Box Alan ‘Premium Plus’, is made to the same exacting standards as all of our other models in the range and will look after your precious bike for many years of cycling travels. All that you need now, is a thirst for adventure and a passport.
