Lucy Charles-Barclay & Her Triathlon Easyfit by BikeBoxAlan
Earlier this year, Lucy Charles-Barclay participated in Challenge Roth. The event is held annually, usually in July. Challenge Roth is a triathlon hosted in Roth bei Nürnberg, Bavaria, Germany and was formerly part of the Ironman Series. For the first part of the Challenge Roth, participants swim 3.86km, followed by a 180.25km bike course using a two-lap course in the south of Roth. The final event is a marathon that finishes in the centre of Roth. Lucy Charles-Barclay has been an English professional triathlete since the age of 19, however, she didn’t have any experience when it came to cycling or running at the time. Lucy’s sporting career began when she was just 8 years old and started swimming. A year on, she was winning children who were up to four years older than she was, which was when she convinced her coaches to let her compete in events such as the 200-meter butterfly (one of the hardest competitions there was). At just 16 years old, Lucy became the national champion. Back in 2018, Lucy set a personal best time of 8:56:10, during her first Ironman beating her previous record from 2017 when she was runner up behind Daniela Ryf. However, this year she has outdone herself again, winning Challenge Roth with a time of 8:31:09, a new personal best! Not only is Lucy an incredible triathlete, but a proud BikeBoxAlan customer. Lucy used our Triathlon Aero Easyfit bike box when she travelled to compete in Challenge Roth. The Triathlon Aero Easyfit is the latest edition to the BikeBoxAlan family. It is the largest bike box available anywhere, so all Triathlon and road bikes fit. There is also plenty of space for wet suits, shoes and kit.
